Recreation

River Park provides picnic tables, shelter house and a half mile walking trail - Memorial Walkway. The walkway provides a safe environment for walking, running, or biking. RV and tent camping sites are also available at River Park.

Salter Park provides playground equipment, tennis, and basketball courts. A picnic shelter and benches are located throughout the park. A swimming pool, complete with waterslides and a diving board, is located on the southeast corner of the park.

Argonia's Recreation Commission provides summer baseball and winter basketball.

Holden Park and Wildlife Area is a private nature preserve that includes an observation tower and the famous "rock bottom" crossing of the Chicaskia River. The preserve has a place for picnicing, bird watching, and hiking. It is open April to November.

The Argonia Community Center provides a place for community meetings and events.

The Salter House Museum is the home of the first woman mayor in the United States. The museum is open to the public by appointment.

Argonia is the home of the KLOUDBusters. KLOUDBusters epitomizes the best of High Power Rocketry in the United States. With a consistent paid membership base of over 100 members. KLOUDBusters has hosted the annual Tripoli Rocketry Association national launch four times in the last ten years: 1993, 1994, 1999, and 2003. KLOUDBusters also hosted the inaugural Discovery Channel "Rocket Challenge" in July 2003.
